Millennial Pink Glow

Millennial Pink Glow - a pink and glowy makeup edit

Millennial Pink Glow is what you get when you mix that good ol’ summer glow with every millennials favourite shade of pink – millennial pink! On today’s beauty edit, there’s so much pink and glow for your eyeballs…

On today’s beauty edit, I’m going to talk you through my no-fuss-but-hella-glow pink makeup that I put on days that I’m not wearing red lippie – yeah, those days do exist. As the name suggest, it’s all about that lit-within, be-seen-from-the-outer-space glow! Keeping everything low-key and low-maintenance, focusing on the glow and that flush of millennial pink.

Highlighter is one thing but creating a glowy complexion is another thing. As of late, the Glam Glow’s Illuminating Moisturiser has become a favourite whenever I want to rock that shine a la naturelle. It has a hint of colour, so great for prepping complexion but what stole my heart is that that irridescent pearly radiance. It’s also packed with some active ingredients, so it’s also on the skincare side of the things – it basically keeps on giving. I apply this all over my face – minus the areas that I don’t want to highlight my pores, no thank you. You can also just apply it on your high points, which is also what I do if I have already applied another moisturiser.

So now that the face is g-l-o-w-i-n-g, I apply foundation – Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion totally saved my summer face; compact, medium coverage and long-lasting despite the humidity and whatnot (tested and approved while in Spain). Dab, dab, dab, dab… et voila – a glowy, fresh and summery-complexion!

Keeping things très simple at the contour department, I just go in with my all time favourite bronzer which can easily pass as contouring. Now let’s roll in the fun times – the millennial pink at its best; Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff is heaven-sent! Look at that pink, just… ugh! Cream blush may be the equivalent of a horror-scenario but this stuff is fool-proof – the tiniest bit goes along the way. Moving on with another Glossier obsession of mine – Haloscope highlighter, which is another key player of this look in terms of tying everything together! After applying lotsa this on the high points, I apply some to my eyelids as well for that glossy look – I told you, we’re after all kinds of glow here!

Back on the red lipstick – it’s no secret that I love a good red lipstick but there are also days that can’t be bothered and just wanna keep it casual. Those days it’s either a nude or my rediscovery of sheer lip glosses. I recently tried the lip oils from ErborianLip Love 2 Nude Infuison* – and totally fell in love! The sheer one that I’m wearing here is just so moisturising without feeling sticky and leaves this nice glossy feels on the lips.

Another new favourite of mine and is something crucial to summer glow (without slipping into the summer sweat) is powder. The By Terry Compact Expert Dual Powder* is everything you need, if you want to keep the shine at the highlight levels. It is basically a hybrid powder that comes both matte and shimmery, which you can use to mattify, highlight, blush, contour… you name it, probably this compact goodness is capable of it! For this look, I use it to set my makeup and touch up when necessary to add that extra glow -because it never is enough!

And lastly, something that I cannot live without is big, bold, voluminous lashes. Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara is all I use ever since it’s out! I talked about this bad boy more in detail here . This mascara will improve your life if you also have stubborn lashes that needs desperate volume and curl! I like the look of the spider lashes so I like a good two to three coats – come on wispy lashes!

Fresh skin, millennial pink cheeks, glossy eyes and lips, and wispy eyelashes… This was my go-to summer 2017 look, but pretty confident that I will keep on implementing millennial pink to my autumnal/winter makeup looks as well.

Which makeup products have you been enjoying wearing this summer? The red lipstick is definitely on top of my list, together with this pink Glossier blush!
