Ceci n’est pas une ordinary white shirt! This is more than an ordinary white shirt; with its unique design and unmissable Matisse vibes, it is definitely more than just a white shirt! In today’s style story, I’m gonna talk about this timeless + unique piece, my latest brand obsession, and mini shoutout to Matisse + pre-Internet send nues.

This is not my first “I am obsessed with this white shirt” post and certainly won’t be the last one! I can’t help it, I love me a good white shirt in any form and kind – be it from structured to loose, any white shirt would probably float my boat. I will be scrolling on the interwebs, looking out for hot piece of white shirt, truth! That in mind, couple of month ago I discovered this ultra cool brand on Instagram and I instantly fell in love with everything they put out there – from their clothes to accessories, their aesthetics + photography. Paloma Wool is a Barcelona based brand/project that will easily leave you in awe with their much alluring Spanish boho vibes.
After going through an intense “I literally want everything!!1!” impulse hit (and thankfully resisting it), I narrowed it down to few things, and this not-your-ordinary-white-shirt shirt is one of purchases. The whole Matisse vibe of this shirt was what it sold it to me, instantly. You may or may not notice that Matisse + Picasso influenced designs are on the rise! I mean they are EVERYWHERE! However, I hadn’t come across a nude figure print as such on a white shirt – hence it was an insta-buy for me! If you want to read more on the subject, Maristella of A Constellation has a really interesting article about it, breaking down the whole Matisse + Picasso influence that is currently taking over our millennial lives!
Apart from the design, I wanna say a few things on the quality and can’t help but touch-base a little slow fashion while at it. I’m not going to go into the depth of why you shouldn’t shop from Zara/Mango and like kinds, we all know why, but not everyone is able to shop slow fashion all the time and it is be hard to resist (for me it is) to the whole affordable/”design like” pieces side of the story. But, I still however try to shop pieces that are slow/local/unique and try to create a wardrobe that’s much more curated than impulse. So this shirt falls under that category; the quality of the it speaks volumes and the way it touches, drapes and falls just feels a-mazing – I just romanticized a piece of clothing right there!
Another thing that is currently taking over 90% of my Instagram grid is this straw bag! The most unpretentious, laid-back, inexpesive bag (after my mesh shopping bag, surely) ever! Don’t we all love those effortless French vibes? Though not even close, I’d like to casually feel/live like I’m in the French Riviera… filling up my straw bag with the juiciest fruits and whatnot! #constantmood Big tip for the Belgian baes, Dille & Kamille stocks the biggest (and most affordable) straw bag collection RN, hit it up!
These old Mary-Janes are having a come back because I am too obsessed with all the shiny + gold things lately, if you couldn’t tell from my earrings that I never not wear. Really though, I reach out for another pair, then I’m like “yeah, but this outfit needs those earrings that I wear all the time instead!” – literally my thought process every time I get dressed.
As per always, I’m curious to hear what you think… Any thoughts on my piece of art shirt? Also, what are your current style obsessions? Let me know below!
