Going Off The Shoulder

Is it just me or our summer wardrobes are actually getting progressively sassier? Frills, ruffles, bell sleeves, off the shoulder everything- basically anything that embodies movement… I don’t know about you but I’m all in with the off the shoulder trend, because how else could I complete my “excuse me while I’m channeling my favourite emoji* of all time” look? *the dancer señorita AKA the ultimate sass queenhow_to_wear_the_off_the_shoulder_top_street_style

When I was in Spain this past weekend I knew that I was going to make the most of my snazzy tops, which have been waiting in the darkest corner of my wardrobe since they don’t get much screen time given the weather conditions that we have. So, Spain = Snazzy Top Time- check! I was so stoked that I finally got to wear this cute little off the shoulder top, and was excited to style it in a location + vibe appropriate way. I love how it oozes that effortless chic vibe, and it was also perfect for getting my tan on while running around in the city- two in one, yes please!

Speaking of snazziness, another thing that totally takes my breath away is embroidery. I lurve me some embroidery, I even started teaching myself some (yes, I’m 85 years old like that) – most times it feels like I’m about to lose my eye-sight but it still is hella fun! That being said, this jazzy pair is the latest addition to my jeans collection for obvious reasons- I basically cannot stop wearing these; my inner granny meets the 90’s!

Also, ever since I went shorter with my hair, I enjoy wearing statement earrings a lot more… well, more than ever. Though I’m still sporting that everyday minimal jewellery bits that I never take off, but these fun little tassle ones really do it for me. What do you think?

What do you think of this style? Have you made any “sassy” clothing purchases lately? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the off-the-shoulder trend- is it a yay or nay for you?
