candy-cane-mani-tutorial,candy-cane-mani-tutorial, christmas-nail-art-ideas, festive-nail-art, candy-cane-nails, essie-russian-roulette, essie-blanc, Here is a quick check list while there is ONLY less than two weeks left till Christmas: Christmas jumper, Christmas spirit, stockings, the pudding, presents… Check, check, and check! Oh wait, what about Christmas nails? Here is one idea that is super fun to rock with around the Christmas tree- the candy cane nail art.

Got it? All right, then we are on a good start.

To create this look, you will need some washi tape (or any tape that is not super sticky), a red, a white and a dark green nail polish (additional). I used Essie Blanc for the base and Essie Russian Roulette on top and to create some more additional festiveness (because you can’t have too much really) I also used this deep green nail polish from American Apparel.

As shown above, after painting the nails with white nail polish, I placed the washi tapes that I cut into different widths. After placing them carefully, I topped them with the red and with the green polish only on my index finger nail. Once you think everything is set, don’t rush it because probably it isn’t. It took me around 45 minutes or more to create the sleekest possible end result and even then they are not perfectly lined, but hey, no one is perfect! To protect the mani and add some shine, I just applied one coat of top coat. That is it really! You just only need to take your time with cutting the tapes (or if you have an easier way to do so, please, let me know) and placing them, and waiting for the entire thing to dry.

I went out with these nails to run some errands and got some compliments already, which totally made my day after putting quite a bit of effort!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear a mani like this on Christmas day?

PS. Many candy canes were harmed during the creation of this post.

Thanks for reading!
