What’s In My Makeup Bag?

whats-in-my-makeup-bag-reviewHere is a sneak peak into my current makeup bag, it has all the goodies that I have been loving lately.

bobbi-brown-lip-balm-spf15-reviewKeeping a bag full of current beauty favourites comes always handy. If I am going for a short vacation, this will be my “grab and go” thing, super fuss free! As favourites come and go, the content of the bag is pretty much determined by what my skin needs and the makeup look that I would be going for at the time. Lately I am loving a light, dewy base topped with the ultimate basics. Nothing more nothing less.

I have talked about the Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Day Protector earlier quite a few times (here and here). It is a face protector with a twist- it gives the tiniest amount of coverage with a dewy finish. As my skin has been so good lately, I don’t reach for much coverage anymore. It preps and protects my skin with a lovely finish, it is super light and dewy.

To set everything off and add little bit of glow, I use Bourjois Java Loose Rice Powder. I have reviewed this one earlier as well. It has been one of my favourite setting powders. If you love that “barely there” base for your makeup, this is the one to reach for- a light and translucent loose powder with a tiny bit of shimmer.

Ever since Kim Kardashian revealed her miraculous face-sculpting tips, contouring has become the most popular department in the makeup front! That being said, what is better than a contour kit? Nothing (too eager)! No, it is the Sleek Face Form, the sister product of the original contour kit. It has everything you need; a bronzer, a higlighther and a blush. So practical and saves me from carrying around 3 different products.

I have been obsessed with neutral eyeshadows lately. By now you can already tell that it is all about natural looks for me, right? Anyway, this neutral eye shadow palette that I got in Istanbul has been a rediscovery for me. Flormar Color Palette Eye Shadow has 5 neutral, earthy colours and they are all matt. I love palettes like this; instead of searching for single eye shadows every time, this palette has all the colours that I love wearing currently.

Recently I made a successful discovery by giving a try to the L’oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara. You can read my detailed review here. No surprise there it has become my favourite mascara in no time. It is what it says; it creates the perfect false lash-y look without a hassle. Simple as that.

I consider myself lucky as my eyebrows don’t require me spending a lot of time on them. However I love me some nicely defined, dark eyebrows. I had tried Essence Eyebrow Stylist almost two years ago and I am hooked ever since. Like I said, as my eyebrows don’t need much work I didn’t feel the need to switch to something else. Moving on from there, I couldn’t resist the packaging of the Essence Hello Autumn Eyebrow Set when I spotted at the drugstore the other day. The formula is exactly the same to the one I had been using, although the colours are slightly different. I think I like this one better as I have the right colour match and it also comes with the tiniest highlighter ever- how cute! I don’t reach for that often but still… it’s the idea that counts!

Simple yet effective lip balm is all I need these days. The weather is getting colder, meaning that lips tend to get dry- yuck! I don’t have much to say about the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15 except that it is super hydrating, non-greasy, non-sticky, and it gives a tad of colour and sheen to your lips. I always apply this before any lippie, absolutely love how it preps the lips.

What do you think? What is your current favourite beauty bits?

Thanks for reading!

    • It is really really nice, do give it a try! 🙂

  • I want that Sleek palette haha 🙂 Your photos are on point!! I need to remember to use macro… I wish I had a white surface indoors that’s wide enough for photos 🙁 I always have to rely on the grass in the backyard or the cute crystal stand or whatever it’s called.

    • That Sleek kit is just the best! 🙂 I really like using white surface for any kind of photos really, makes them stand out but that’s not a must of course. The cute crystal stand also sounds very good to me. 🙂
