Ever since I received the Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain from My Little Box, I can’t stop wearing it.

review

When I received this Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain I was extremely happy that I finally got the chance to try out some Sephora in-house products as they’re a tad out of my reach in Belgium- unbelievable I know!  (insert a sad face here).

When I first swatched this, without exaggeration I was blown away. It feels incredibly light and goes on like butter. I have mentioned in the My Little Box October haul that it reminded me a lot of the Bourjois  Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks; it applies like a liquid lipstick and it becomes matte after few seconds, and it sets in really well. True, it is quite like the velvet lipsticks but what they don’t have in common is that the formula of the lip velvet is quite thick and it has slight drying feel after wearing it sometime. On the other hand, this lip stain applies really lightly almost like a sheen gloss and you don’t feel it on your lips after it dries. I am usually not a huge fan of the fact that matte lipsticks can/may cause inevitable dryness.

Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain in Red Essence is a shade that I didn’t have in my collection before; a burned-red with slight brown undertone. I think it is pretty season appropriate and you can wear it for any occasion, as the colour is not that “bold” considering that it’s still on the darker side of the red shades. If you are not pleased with a light wash of this beautiful colour, you can absolutely achieve a darker shade, as it has an easily buildable formula. Another important point for me is the smell; I like the smell as well, it also reminds me of Guerlain lipsticks- nothing too strong or off-putting. Whether you want to wear it the colour it is or darker, this lip stain has passed the test whilst me going all in with burgers, pizzas, and anything that is now to be notorious for a matte lipstick- it was still there! That easily shows me that this is absolutely the one if I am going out and I cannot be bothered with re-touches during the day.

What do you think of this one? Have you ever tried lip stains before?

  • That is a really pretty color! I have the Sephora lip stain in tangerine and I really like it a lot. I think I might need this red shade too though 🙂

    • I will definitely up for trying out more colours from this lip stain, they look all great! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  • i’ve tried tints before but not stains. are they any similar? btw, you look SO pretty!!!!!! wish i had an eye colour like yours 🙂

    • I am sure if there is a major difference between stains and tints but to me they all sound the same. 🙂 oh you, I am blushing here, thank you! 🙂

  • I’ve never tried lip stains, and I’m just recently trying out red shades for autumn. I prefer darker berry colors than bright reds so far…

    • That is already a good start! 🙂 I like lip stains a lot more than just regular lipsticks, they last quite long and they don’t smudge easily, which is always a big winner for me with red lips.
